I Am Here
Hey friends, I hope you all had a wonderful July 4th and were able to enjoy family and friends. Hopefully everyone got a little break, we had a nice relaxing few days, we even had a break from baseball, I love watching him play but it has been so hot, we enjoyed the time off!
I had told you all in the previous post that Mike just could not do appointment at the Radiologist, it was a lot and freaked him out. They ask that I come to the next appointment with him and maybe it would help. We got to the appointment, we had been talking about it, he was ready! They call us back, I was in the actual room with him to start with, he laid on the table and that was as far as we got, he jumped off, again insisting he was not doing this. I talked to him, the nurses talked to him, the doctor tried to “make” him do it and Mike being Mike promptly told him that he could not make him do a damn thing. So, as you can see things were going well.. We took a little break, just tried to gather our thoughts so to speak, this appointment was a nightmare to say the least. Now, in all honesty I do not know if I could have done this, he was laying on a table, they wanted to make a mask out of the plaster stuff and put him in a machine to do the test so they knew exactly where to hit with the radiation, it was A LOT to say the least. I could not blame him one bit after seeing this with my own eyes, this is why I always say that he is my hero, this was so much crap that he was being put through. After the little break, he got back on the table, I was moved into the room with a “window” it was a piece of glass but I could see and talk to him, he was able to hear me. I kept telling him how brave he was, how strong he was, how much I loved him, how much Harrison needed him so we needed to start treatment, anything of comfort was being said to this husband of mine. Somehow, by the grace of God, we got through the appointment! Now, we waited for the mask to set, it turned into a hard plastic basically and this also took a week or so. But the appointment was done and they had what they needed to get the ball rolling!!
