A skeleton sitting on top of a chair with the word " waiting " above it.

Waiting!

We get an appointment the next week with the doctor that was going to do the surgery. We get to the appointment and as usual Mike is taken back and I was told they would get me in a few minutes, believe me I knew the drill at this point. Of course it seemed like an eternity before I could go back. Finally, she comes and lets me back. Mike is as always just smiling and acting cool, calm and collected. The nurse is sort of telling us what is going to happen, what we can expect and things like that. The doctor comes in, he introduces himself, because again we had never met him. We were putting faith in a person we had never laid eyes on, I remember thinking we were crazy, yet here we go. He informed us that he would be doing what they called a guided CT scan, Mike would be awake but out of it, if that makes sense. They were going in the side of his neck with a large needle to get a sample of the tumor. The doctor said it would take about 30-45 minutes. I was able to just stay in the same room because they were bringing him back there. I was excited about that, rather than having to go to a waiting room. It took a little over 30 minutes and they were back. The doctor WAS able to get the sample, praise the lord!! Now the sample was being sent off for testing and we would have the results in about a week, so we hoped!
