Hospital Visit
Mike was still sick throughout the day after the pain medicine was changed. He had a friend from work that was coming to visit him that evening. The friend was here from out of town, as he was in their Texas shop. He had been traveling from Texas to help Mikes crew while Mike was doing his treatment. I wanted to cancel the visit because Mike was so sick but he would not let me. I got him settled on the couch and ready for his friend to come over. Our nephew came as well, he was working with Mike also. They got there and were taken back with the way Mike looked, the weight loss, his skin just everything. Mike was using his white board to communicate with them, it was hard but I know he enjoyed seeing them. He kept having to get up and go to the restroom during the visit, at first I did not think much of it, after the third time, I followed him to the bathroom. He was vomiting, he was so damn sick but still insisted on visiting with them. After the fourth time of him excusing himself, I told them what was happening and ask if they could go because I was needing to call the doctor to see what was happening. They were of course more than willing to go so that he could rest. I called the doctor, he called me back super quick. I told him what was going on, Mike also had a fever, he told me that I needed to take him to the Emergency Room, I kind of figured that would be the case. I came back in to tell Mike and he was laying on the floor, he could not get up, I lifted him and put him on the bed. I have no idea where the strength to lift him came from but I did it! I called my sister in law to come stay with Harrison, my mother in law answered the phone and I was crying, I told her that I needed Tracy to come stay with Harrison, I did not even have to finish my sentence, she was already telling Tracy to pack a bag and go. We left before she got there, Harrison was old enough to stay there alone but I did not want him alone overnight. I got Mike to the Emergency Room, we walked in, checked in and he was taking back for an X-Ray..
