So, What Else?

We are in the Emergency Room, Mike had been taken back to get an X-Ray. They told me that he would be right back. He was brought out fairly quickly and we went to the triage section. I was explaining everything that was going on with him to the nurse, he did not have a fever when we got there but they could tell he was definitely not well. After we got done in triage, we were sent back to the main waiting room. It was not long when they got him to take him back to a room. They would not let me go back with him, thank you stupid Covid-19, I had a fit because he could not talk and I was worried about what was going to happen with him being alone. I kept telling him before he went back to make sure I could get back there, he knew I was worried, scared and all things, he gave me a kiss and walked back. The door closed with my sick as hell husband behind it. I went to the truck and had a complete and total melt down, honestly I think it was a melt down that I needed to have. I had been holding so much in so that Mike did not worry, this evening it got the best of me. After what felt like forever he texted me and said they thought he may have pneumonia, they were waiting for the doctor to read it. He told them that I was his caregiver, they really did not care, they did not want anyone back there. When he was originally being taken back, there was a male nurse that looked at me, he knew I was so upset since I could not go with him, he literally looked right at me and said, “He`s in good hands, we cannot let the common people caregivers back at this time” of course my thought was you freaking asshole! I did not say it because I did not want to ruin my chances of being back there with Mike, but man it was on the tip of my tongue. Anyway the very nice doctor that was caring for Mike called me, Mike did not have pneumonia which was awesome news, he was severely dehydrated and needed a lot of fluids, this was one of the reasons he was throwing up along with the change in medicine. They were not planning to admit him but they were keeping him to give him fluids. The nice doctor allowed me to come back in and be with him, thank the lord, I needed to see Mike. As I walked through the door, that wonderful male nurse was sitting at the nurses station, he tried to stop me, I gave him the doctors name as I had been instructed to do, and simply said to him “I am not just common folk, ass hat” and kept on walking.
