Support Dogs
Now, we have a Australian Shepard (Cowboy) that we adopted from a lady and a Dachshund (Suzy) that we inherited when my parents passed away. They are by no means registered as emotional support dogs BUT let me tell you they both knew that Mike was sick. They would not leave his side, it was a constant thing for them to be right up under him, if they were not right with him they both barked and barked until they saw him. I know they say dogs have instincts and can tell things before humans and all that and after going through this with Cowboy and Suzy I believe it! They would go out to use the bathroom and expected to be let right back in to be with Mike. They were never far from his side, if he was sitting on the couch so were they, if he was trying to lay in the bed, they were on the bed, if he went to the bathroom they were laying at the door waiting on him. To this day they still do these same things. He tells them all the time that he loves them and appreciates them being part of his emotional support system and they honestly really were. It was crazy to watch them with him but they knew his every move and were right there. We call them our unregistered support babies, they are just that. Oh and if I was beside him they would nudge me until I moved so they could get to him, so funny!

Yes, my lil pup has been such comfort to me! They can sense when we aren’t feeling good and come to our aide. My Spud can be such an anxiety reliever.
