Baby Steps

Still going through the healing process, believe me it was slow. Mike was doing his best to get back to normal, I was pretty sure we had found a new normal. He was able to drink water, what a huge blessing this was. We had stooped the IV fluids at this point because he was able to actually drink the water. We still were not doing much as far as going out, he got tired really fast. His body was adjusting to so many things, so many changes, just the weight loss itself was a lot. He did not look like the same person. He was still not able to really eat, he was trying but everything hurt, you can imagine having your throat basically burned, nothing was going to not hurt. Everyone wanted to give him ice cream, you would think that would be awesome but it really burned him, he was so beyond raw. Not just the inside was burnt, the outside as well, his neck was looking really rough at this point. They had given us a prescription for a cream, it did make his neck feel better, we could not keep it in the house because we used it so fast.
