On Top of the World

I was feeling like I could conquer anything! I was working, getting Mike to radiation (he was almost done!), giving him IV fluids making sure Harrison was where he needed to be, I was doing it all. I was on top of the world! I was also tired, but hey, nobody said being a caregiver was easy. Mike was honestly feeling a little better with the fluids, thank goodness. His pain medicine dose was where it needed to be, so his pain was being controlled better, that as amazing. He was still using his spray bottle with water, he took it everywhere, it was still doing its job.

We went to the Oncologist for some bloodwork, although he was not getting chemotherapy they just wanted to make sure all of his numbers were bouncing back. Honestly, his numbers as far as blood work while going through chemotherapy were really good, nothing really got out of whack which they said was unusual and amazing at the same time. We were thankful for that, that would have meant he could not get the chemotherapy some weeks, things would have been prolonged so we were thankful and blessed. His potassium was “off” at this visit, they said that was totally normal, they were going to send him some prescription potassium that he would take and it would get re-checked in a couple of weeks. We were just doing our thing and waiting for radiation to be done! We were almost there!
