Healing

Radiation was finished, praise the lord. Mike was healing, it was not an easy thing but he was getting it done. He was able to take it easy, rest and concentrate on getting better. The healing process was hard, we were thinking this part would be easy, not so much. We were not thinking about the sores, rashes, skin issues and all the things post radiation. I guess we should have known from when I went through it but I guess we were not thinking about that, our minds were, he was done, let the easy healing begin.

Is there really ever a easy healing process, probably not. Mikes neck was awful at this point, he had such bad skin issues, worse than the worse sunburn you could have, it was discolored, just so bad, it was overwhelming actually. His mouth was developing sores into his throat, again not something we expected. He was still getting fluids at this point to make sure he stayed hydrated, I was still being a nurse! We were struggling but pushing on through.
