Choking Hazard

I had mentioned the Potassium Pills they had called in for Mike to boost his Potassium, well they were huge! Now keep in mind he was not eating, drinking, could barely swallow his own spit so this pill was going to be an issue. I showed him the pill, I literally thought he was going to cry, he knew there was no way he was going to be able to take it. I went to the store, bought a pill crusher and started crushing. I did not know what else to do, of course there was the issue of how he was going to get the crushed pill down since he was not able to drink water either.

I gave him his fluids before attempting the crushed pill, he felt better after fluids, so my thought was that maybe his mood would help him get it down. By the way I had gotten really good at giving the fluids, I was a natural. Anyway, when the fluids were doe, I got that cleaned up and brought in a bottle of water along with the crushed pill. Mike looks at me and just shakes his head, I told him that we had to get this done, I knew he could do it, all the positive things I could muster up. I am not sure what happen but he just grabbed the crushed pill and put it in his mouth, it took at least 30 minutes (I am not joking) but he got the pill down with drops of water. I mean we only had 30 more days of this, hey we got it!
