Drinking Water
We were still pushing through.. Mike was feeling better, not 100% by any means but better. I was still giving him the IV fluids, he was so thirsty at this point and he was hungry. He was so thin, he had lost so much weight, like 100lbs! He had lost a whole person! He was so little, bless his heart. We were watching a lot of movies, we were still not going out much unless it was to the doctor, his immune system was still compromised, I was so scared of him getting sick. His blood other than the potassium was pretty good, which was amazing.
We were sitting watching a movie one afternoon and Mike said to me, I want a bottle of water. I looked at him, I was like for what? He said I want to try and drink it. I was like oh heck yes!! I gave him a bottle of water that had been sitting out, I knew cold would burn him. He opened the water bottle and put it to his lips, he looked at me and just started drinking, he did not stop until the entire bottle was gone. When he was finished, he just started crying, which of course made me cry. He said that it tasted so good, he had forgot what water tasted like. Made me so sad to hear him say that, this was the first time in 5 weeks that he had drank anything!
